My camp days are over at least for this summer. I'm home now, and it has been quiet a transitional period. Going from 3 square meals a day (plus 2 snacks anytime of the day), to fixing my own food. From getting plenty of physical activity without even trying, to having to make myself do some sort of exercise. From having a worship service every night and a spot in your schedule for quiet time, to church on Sundays and Wednesdays and having to make time for quiet time on my own. From hanging out with people near my same age all day, to hanging out with my siblings.

The life that I have at camp is the life that I wish I had year round...but that's just not realistic. I love my life at home, but I'm ready for a change. I mean isn't there more to life than switching tabs on your internet browser? I'm ready. I'm ready to change everything. I'm ready to hang out with people my own age more often. I'm ready to make time for God everyday. I'm ready to "work-out". I'm ready to take the love from camp and bring it to my church, community, and home.

This summer. I don't even know where to start. It has been more amazing in ways that I didn't think that it would be. At the beginning of this summer I made a bucket list. It went something like this...

• armadillo hunt. 
• make a video of my summer.
• work on loping.
• saddle in less than 5 minutes.
• finish reading "life without limits". 

• There is more than one way to be encouraging.
• You can tell how much someone loves you by the way they correct you.
• There is a time to speak and I time to listen.
• Pick your battles.
• Chapel decorations can't stay up forever.

• When plans change...go with it.
• God does indeed have a sense of humor.
• Prayer is a very powerful thing.
• Never be too hard on yourself.
• Relationships are one of the most important things in life so take care of them.
• and you will never know how much you love someone until you have to say goodbye.

I was planning on going to a staffer's wedding so I was all dressed up in a dress and had my hair and makeup done when I get a migraine and had to stay at camp instead.  Even though that was awful, my family came up and brought me a package of goodies since I wasn't going to be with them for the 4th of July, and Tiffany (a super cool kitchen staffer) took care of me while everyone was gone to the wedding. Like bringing me food...I love food.


Sunday evening Jennifer (wrangler in training W.I.T.) and Olivia (Volunteer Wrangler V.W.) showed up not too long after I did. Abigail (head wrangler) was on vacation for the weekend and wasn't returning until Monday night. So Mr. Steve, Olivia, and I showed them the ropes. We gave them the "grand tour" and explained how we do things.

It was a completely new experience for me...teaching someone to do a job that I haven't completely mastered yet myself. I have to admit that I was a little nervous about it, but it went really well! I prayed before they even arrived that God would guide me to be a good teacher and to ease all of our nerves. Prayer is a powerful thing!
